The woman…why she is crying? why is she a waxwork? why her eyes are following you? it can be interpreted as a warning or a statement. The colour reveals the truth; the black and white hides herself, as she has hidden herself for years, in her heartbroken self. Just like Miss Haversham in the classic tale of Great Expectations, by Charles Dickens.
She is broken, and she shows that, she’s closed, but then when opens herself up she instantly crawls back into her previous, waxwork like pose and becomes closed off again. This is the reality of many modern experiences, whether its a broken heart, a job that falls apart, loved ones leaving – it is the reality that many people do not open up to.
